The World Innovation Summit for Education (WISE) has announced Qatar’s inaugural education festival, “Doha Learning Week”.
Set to take place from November 10-16 across Doha, the event will culminate with the 2017 WISE Summit.
“Doha Learning Week”, the flagship education festival of WISE, is intended to celebrate as well as raise awareness of the various education and learning resources and initiatives in Doha.
Held in collaboration with the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy and other local partners, the event will feature a series of workshops, movie screenings, exhibitions, lectures, performances, tours, and hack-a-thons.
WISE, an initiative of the Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development, has invited students, parents, teachers, and education enthusiasts to join them in exploring, debating, and connecting around the topic of education.
WISE marked the announcement of “Doha Learning Week” with a special launch event featuring remarks from WISE chief executive Stavros N Yiannouka, and Ameena A Hussain, the director of Programmes and Community Development at WISE.
Hussain said: “’Doha Learning Week’ is designed to raise awareness among our local community about the great variety of education resources available for our young people and learners of all ages. We welcome the entire community to join these exciting activities and opportunities happening all over Doha.”
The 2017 WISE Summit, held under the theme, Co-Exist, Co-Create: Learning to Live and Work Together, will take place from November 14 to 16 in Doha.
