HE the Director of the Information Office at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs ambassador Ahmed bin Saeed al-Rumaihi said that the building of Qatar’s embassy in the Somali capital Mogadishu has been severely damaged by the explosion of a car bomb near the embassy building on the K5 Junction on Saturday evening.
Al-Rumaihi said that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs contacted the embassy to check on the Qatari diplomats and the managers, as well as the rest of the embassy staff, adding that the charge d’affaires was slightly injured in the explosion but he is now in a good health, and the rest of staff are fine.
Meanwhile, Qatar condemned the double bombings in Mogadishu, which killed hundreds of people and injured dozens others, destroyed several buildings and set dozens of vehicles on fire.
An official source at the Foreign Ministry stressed Qatar’s solidarity with  the Somali government, affirming that such acts are aimed at destabilising and spreading chaos among the Somali people, and they are contrary to moral values and  divine laws.
