Strong winds are expected in some places around noon on Friday, the Qatar Met department has said.

Offshore areas, too, are likely to see strong winds and high seas towards the north by this afternoon, according to the weather report.

The wind speed may go up to 20 knots inshore and 25 knots offshore, with the sea level rising to 7ft in the north by the afternoon.

The detailed forecast also says hazy to misty conditions are likely in some places in the early hours of the day, followed by slightly dusty conditions and a hot day with some clouds.

It will be hazy in offshore areas, too, at first, and the conditions will improve later.

A maximum temperature of 40C is expected on Friday in Doha, Mesaieed, Wakrah, Abu Samra and Al Khor. The minimum, on the other hand, may drop to 23C in Abu Samra, while in Doha it will be 30C.

Thursday, Doha recorded a maximum temperature of 42C.
