The Ministry of Economy and Commerce (MEC), in collaboration with Nasser Bin Khaled Automobiles, has announced the recall of Mercedes-Benz A-Class model of 2013 because the connection of the vacuum line on the brake booster may break.
The MEC said the recall campaign comes within the framework of its ongoing efforts to protect consumers and ensure that car dealers follow up on vehicles’ defects and repair them.
The MEC said that it will co-ordinate with the dealer to follow up on the maintenance and repair works and will communicate with customers to ensure that the necessary repairs are carried out.

QC to raises funds to educate 36,000 orphans

Qatar Charity (QC) through its ongoing ‘Back to Schools’ campaign, seeks to mobilise support for the provision of educational supplies to more than 36,000 orphans in 27 countries, with the beginning of the school year.
QC said that the campaign seeks to raise more than QR7mn to fund the education of orphans, support them with educational supplies such as school uniforms and school bags.
The campaign aims to alleviate the suffering of children in poor societies by taking care of their various needs in the fields of education, health, nutrition, and others, Director of QC’s Operations Department Khalid al-Yafei said in a press release.
Al-Yafei added that QC launched the project to provide bags and uniforms for students who are sponsored, to cut dropout of students from school in many poor countries.
QC seeks to provide more than 36,000 bags containing the necessary stationery, and uniforms for orphans in 27 countries at a cost of QR7.2mn riyals, al-Yafei said.
