Qatargas has signed a medium-term sales and purchase agreement with Turkey's Botas Petroleum Pipeline Corporation.
Under the terms of the agreement, Qatargas will deliver 1.5mn tonnes of liquefied natural gas (LNG) per annum for three years.
Commencing on October 1, the agreement provides for the supply of LNG from Qatargas 2, the world’s first fully integrated value chain LNG venture. The LNG will be delivered onboard Q-Flex vessels to either the Egegaz LNG terminal, the Marmara LNG Terminal, or to the Etki LNG terminal in Turkey.
"We are very pleased to announce this new agreement with Botas which will further strengthen our relationship with our friends in Turkey," according to Saad Sherida al-Kaabi, president and chief executive of Qatar Petroleum, and chairman of the Qatargas.
