Visitors arriving from Kuwait, Oman and Turkey to celebrate Eid al-Adha in Qatar were treated to a special reception at Hamad International Airport (HIA), Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) announced yesterday.
As they waited for luggage at the conveyor belt, the visitors were greeted with Arabic coffee and dates, given special welcome packages and serenaded with the tunes of popular Omani, Kuwaiti and Turkish music.
Saif al-Kuwari, director of PR and communication at QTA commented: "Eid is about creating and sharing memorable moments with family, neighbours and friends, and we are delighted to uphold the tradition once again this Eid by welcoming our brothers and sisters from Oman, Kuwait and Turkey at HIA.

A welcome message with the Turkish National Flag design is seen on a conveyor belt at HIA.

"We are particularly excited to have them join us for the fun and joyful season that coincides with the last week of Qatar Summer Festival, which boasts a wide variety of attractive hospitality, entertainment and retail options throughout the country."
Today, the third edition of Doha Comedy Festival (DCF) will be held, bringing together a diverse line-up of stand-up comedy stars. The show will feature Mo Amer, Maz Jobrani, Nemr Nemr, Vir Das and Qatar's very own stand-up comedy pioneer, Hamad AlAmmari. DCF is set to be held at Qatar National Convention Centre from 8pm.
