Emir holds phone talks with Paraguay president
His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani yesterday held a telephone conversation with Paraguay President Horacio Cartes. During the phone call, the two sides reviewed bilateral relations between the two countries and means of developing and enhancing them in all fields. In addition, they reviewed the latest developments on the regional and international fronts, notably the current Gulf crisis and its repercussions, and the international efforts to solve it through dialogue and diplomatic methods under the mediation of the fraternal State of Kuwait.

Subsidised sheep for Qatari nationals
The Ministry of Economy and Commerce is to provide Qataris with subsidised sheep at a reasonable price for Eid al-Adha. The ministry said that the sheep will be sold starting from Saturday until the third day of Eid (September 3). Each sheep will cost QR1,100. Widam Food Company to provide 12,500 Arabian sheep (Syrian sheep of 45kg or more). They will be sold at the Central Market slaughterhouse and those at Al Shamal and Umm Salal Central Market. Each Qatari aged 20 years or above is entitled to one sheep.

Summer heat to ease from tomorrow 
The Star of Suhail will appear in the skies of Qatar tomorrow, heralding the start of the rainy season after summer. The head of Qatar Astronomical Centre Sheikh Salman bin Jabor al-Thani said the star appears on August 24 every year, noting that Arabs await its appearance which marks the end of the summer heat and the beginning of the rainy season. He added that the people should expect cumulus clouds on a daily basis in the northwestern areas at noon.
