Sidra Medical and Research Center (Sidra) received over 2,300 applications as a result of its National Recruitment Open Day recently. The event targeted more than 100 entry-level and mid-level medical administration careers at Sidra for Qataris and those with Qatari mothers.

Dr Kholode al-Obaidli, chief learning officer at Sidra said: “Our recruitment open day was a huge success with over 1,300 visitors in a span of 12 hours! I was very pleased to see the growing interest that our young Qataris have in joining the healthcare sector. The enthusiasm, curiosity and eagerness displayed by the visitors, makes me really proud to work for an organisation like Sidra that continues to attract talent amongst the community and abroad.”
The open day also featured a signing ceremony between chief executive officer Peter Morris and al-Obaidli from Sidra and Dr Abdallah Hazaimeh, dean, Community College of Qatar (CCQ).
Sidra has partnered with CCQ to offer a customised four-month “Healthcare Office Skills” programme. Candidates who are selected for some of the medical administration roles will embark on the programme immediately after joining the organisation. It includes courses such as medical office administration, medical terminology for healthcare, health information management systems and business computer applications.
“We are now in the process of reviewing all the applications we received online and in-person. Our team will reach out to candidates whose applications have been successful for a first round of interviews. Due to the large volume of applications, candidates can expect to hear from us within the next four weeks. We are very excited to welcome a new generation of young talent who will play a very important role in advancing healthcare for the people of Qatar,” Dr Kholode said.
