Singer Chris Brown has opened up about the night he assaulted his former girlfriend and singer Rihanna in 2009. He says he felt like a “monster” at that time.
Brown spoke about the incident in a new clip for his documentary Chris Brown: Welcome To My Life, where he described how things took a wrong turn when he told Rihanna about his sexual past with a woman who once worked for him, reports dailymail.co.uk.
He said that the confession came as a shock to Rihanna after he had previously told her they were never romantically involved – causing their relationship to turn violent.
“She (Rihanna) hated me. After that, I tried everything. She didn’t care, she just didn’t trust me after that. From there, it just went downhill because it would be fights, it would be verbal fights, physical fights as well. Mutual sides, it is the first time I get to say anything,” Brown said.
He added: “I still love Rihanna, but I’m just going to be honest – we would fight each other, she would hit me, I would hit her, but it never was OK. It was always a point to where we talk about it like, ‘What the f**k are we doing?’”
“If I go on stage, I got a scratch on my face, and I’ve got to explain it, like ‘Oh I fell’, or if you got a scar or a bruise, you got to put make up on. I’m not ever trying to put my hands on any female. I felt like a f*****g monster.” – IANS

Babumoshai Bandookbaaz cleared by FCAT with eight cuts

Nawazuddin Siddiqui-starrer Babumoshai Bandookbaaz has been cleared by the Film Certification Appellate Tribunal (FCAT) with eight “minor and voluntary cuts”. Its team is happy, says writer Ghalib Asad Bhopali.
Bhopali told IANS: “We are very happy because all the cuts are very minor. Now, the audience can see what we wanted to show through the film. However, we are still waiting for certification, hope we will get it soon this time.”
The film’s director Kushan Nandy tweeted earlier: “FCAT clears Babumoshai Bandookbaaz with eight minor, voluntary cuts. Despite Pahlaj Nihalani’s last letter to stop it. See you on August 25.”
The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), which was earlier headed by Nihalani, had demanded 48 cuts in the film, which has intimate scenes, to get ‘A’ certification.
The director also gave a “big thank you” to the ones who supported him “throughout the entire battle”.
Nawazuddin also tweeted saying: “Thanks FCAT for clearing Babumoshai Bandookbaaz with minor voluntary cuts. The film will now release with its original flavour on August 25.”
A rustic drama, the film also features Bidita Bag. - IANS

More films to be shot in Portugal: Ambassador

After the Shah Rukh Khan-Anushka Sharma starrer Jab Harry Met Sejal, more Bollywood films are scheduled to be shot in Portugal, Indian Ambassador to Portugal Nandini Singla has said, pushing for a more productive relationship between the two countries.
The India-Portuguese relationship is going through a “golden moment” thanks to the fact that the prime ministers of the two countries visited each other’s countries in a period of six months, she said at the inauguration of a Portugal India Business hub.
“I don’t know how many of you have seen the new Shah Rukh Khan movie. It was shot in Portugal. I was there at the film shooting and we are going to shoot many more movies in Portugal.”
“This is not exactly business, but it has laid the foundation for Portuguese businesses to look with greater interest in India and similarly for Indians to look wider,” Singla said in the presence of Portugal Consul General Rui Carvalho Baceira and Vice President of the hub Daryl Pereira.
The film, which released recently, was shot in several European cities including Lisbon, Portugal’s capital.
The Hub is aimed at acting as a bridge to facilitate trade between India and Portugal in order to spur entrepreneurs in Portugal to set up businesses in India and vice versa.
A lack of a facilitation centre, she said, had in the past proven to be a handicap vis a vis increasing trade between the two countries, which was languishing at around $700 million.
“A lack of a platform that tells Portuguese businesses about the opportunities in India... that tells Indian businesses about the opportunities in Portugal, connects the two, does some hand-holding when they actually come to the country,” she said.
Singla said that for Indian businesses and start-ups the Portugal India Business hub would open the doors to the Portuguese speaking world including growing economies like Brazil, Mozambique, Angola and others apart from Portugal itself.
The top diplomat also said that increased bonhomie between India and Portugal in recent times could be described as the “golden period” in the bilateral relationship, especially in view of the 20 MoUs signed between the two countries and multi-sectoral tie-ups in the areas of defence, space, science and technology, start-ups, renewable energy, sports, youth exchanges, culture, films and others.
“Practically there is a deepening and understanding of relationships in every area,” she said. - IANS

Big B to team up with Chiranjeevi in Uyyalawadaa

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan will join hands with actor Chiranjeevi in his upcoming multi-lingual historic drama Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy, based on the life of a popular freedom fighter from Kurnool.
“Amitji is officially on board. He plays a pivotal role but nothing more can be said about his character at this moment,” a source from the film’s unit told IANS.
To be directed by Surender Reddy, the film will be bankrolled by Ram Charan.
The project was officially launched on Wednesday. The source confirmed that Nayanthara has been finalised as the leading lady.
Talking about the rest of the cast, the source added: “Contrary to rumours, Tamil actor Vijay Sethupathi is not part of the project. He wasn’t even approached in the first place. Kannada actor Sudeep is being considered but he is yet to officially sign on the dotted line.”
Asked if A R Rahman has been roped in to compose the music, the source said: “He is yet to sign the project. We have a few more options and we are still figuring out things.”
The title logo and motion poster of the film will be released on August 22 on the occasion of Chiranjeevi’s birthday.
In the film, Chiranjeevi will be seen sporting twirled mustache to play his part.
In June, Chiranjeevi’s look for the film went viral when he attended a special memorial meet for late Telugu filmmaker Dasari Narayana Rao, who passed away earlier this year.
Tipped to be made on a budget of over Rs150 crore, the film will be made in Telugu, Hindi and Kannada.
