Qatar Foundation (QF) has welcomed a press delegation from France and Belgium at its headquarters in Education City.

The group was welcomed by Omran Hamad al-Kuwari, executive director, CEO Office, QF; Dr Ahmad M Hasnah, president, Hamad Bin Khalifa University; Buthaina Ali al-Nuaimi, president of Pre-University Education, QF and Michael Mitchell, general counsel, QF.

During the visit, the delegation was given a comprehensive presentation highlighting QF’s different academic institutes, science and research centres, and community development initiatives.

The presentation showed how QF, over the last 22 years, has worked to support Qatar on its journey to becoming a diversified and sustainable economy; not only investing in the country’s future but also in the region and on an international level. The visitors heard how this goal had been achieved through Education City, a pioneering model that is constantly evolving in an-ever changing landscape.

Dr Hasnah said: “At Qatar Foundation, we believe in a diversified approach to education, which is reflected in our community, global campuses, teaching methodologies, and a broad academic spectrum that extends from preschool to graduate studies. The education and research offerings provided by HBKU and QF’s partner universities in Education City will continue to evolve with our students who come from Qatar, the region, and the world.”

Following the presentation and a short Q&A session, the visitors were taken to the open-air viewing platform on the eighth floor of QF headquarters, where they were shown the education and research buildings of Education City, and discussed future plans at Qatar Foundation.
