Indian and Chinese soldiers threw stones at each other resulting in minor injuries as they clashed along a disputed border in the Ladakh region of Kashmir, news reports and officials said on Wednesday.

The incident occurred after Indian border guards stopped 15 Chinese soldiers from entering Indian territory near Pangong Lake on Tuesday morning, broadcaster NDTV reported, quoting sources.
The Chinese soldiers refused to retreat despite repeated warnings that led to a two-hour long stand-off which saw stones being thrown by either side.
The situation was brought under control after a drill that saw both sides holding up banners proclaiming their rights over the disputed area before stepping back into their respective positions, the report said.
A senior Indian official told the dpa that he could neither confirm nor deny the media reports.
But he admitted that such incidents do happen because parts of the borders have not been clearly demarcated and accusations of border violations and incursions by either side are routine.
India and China dispute several sections of their ill-defined 3,500-kilometre border, most of which runs along the Himalayan range. The two countries fought a war over their border in 1962.
The latest confrontation comes amid a face-off between the Asian giants in the Doklam area that abuts China, India and Bhutan since June.
Beijing has repeatedly asked India to unilaterally withdraw from Doklam. China wants to build a road through the Doklam plateau. India has responded by sending troops to evict the Chinese military's construction workers.
