Emir condoles with Kuwait’s leader
His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani has sent a cable to the Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah to express his condolences on the two Kuwaiti victims of the terrorist attack on a restaurant in Ouagadougou, the capital of Burkina Faso. The Emir expressed his sincere condolences to the government and people of Kuwait, praying Allah Almighty to grant the victims Paradise.

Emir reviews Gulf crisis with Indian PM
His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani yesterday held telephone conversation with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during which the Emir expressed his felicitations on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of India’s Independence Day. The conversation also reviewed the latest developments of the Gulf crisis and its repercussions on the regional and international fronts, as well as efforts to solve it through diplomatic channels with Kuwait’s mediation. Additionally, it touched on friendship and co-operation ties between the two countries and means of boosting and developing them in all fields.

Emir congratulates Indian president on Independence Day
His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and His Highness the Deputy Emir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad al-Thani yesterday sent cables of congratulations to Indian President Ram Nath Kovind on the anniversary of his country’s Independence Day. HE the Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani sent a similar cable to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Emir enquires after McCain’s health
His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani yesterday held a telephone conversation with Senator John McCain, member of the US Senate, to enquire after his health and to congratulate him on the success of his surgery. McCain expressed his deep thanks and appreciation to the Emir for his gesture as well as the kind sentiments that he showed, reflecting the depth of Qatar-US ties.The two sides also exchanged views on developments in the Middle East, notably the Gulf crisis, besides issues of common concern.
