Tickets for the Kadim al-Sahir and Fahad al-Kubaisi music concert have already sold out, the organisers have said.
Tickets started selling late last month in the silver, gold, platinum, VIP and royal categories, ranging from QR45 to QR395, at Virgin Megastore branches and on the store’s ticketing website.
The event organisers, The Social Studio, have said they are gearing up to host a full house of music lovers and fans at the Qatar National Convention Centre theatre on August 17.
“Within a few hours of announcing the performances of al-Sahir and al-Kubaisi, tickets immediately began to sell out. This is an indication that the audience has a sophisticated musical taste, which makes us very happy,” The Social Studio managing director Hamzeh Zahr said.
Both artistes expressed excitement at performing live for their fans in Doha this month.
Dubbed the “Caesar of Arabic Song”, al-Sahir is looking forward to his performance in Qatar, saying that “people the world over deserve to experience sophisticated music, which is created in a moment of peace”.
He will also be performing pieces from his latest album.
Qatari celebrity pop artist al-Kubaisi has promised his audience a special evening.
“This is the first time I’m performing during Qatar Summer Festival (QSF) and without a doubt, it means a lot to me to perform in my own country, giving everybody the opportunity to come together in the spirit of solidarity and love,” he said.
The concert comes as part of QSF’s entertainment offerings and is being supported by Qatar Tourism Authority as part of its strategy to support and engage local businesses in the tourism sector.
The festival has activities happening across Qatar under the theme “Colour Your Summer”.
The fourth edition of the festival begins on the first day of Eid al-Adha and will run until September 5.
