Qatar's population reached more than 2.5mn at the end of June, attaining an increase of 2.8% as compared to the end of June 2016, according to data released by the Ministry of Development Planning and Statistics (MDPS).
A total number of 2,118 births were registered in June. On the other hand, 201 deaths were recorded during the month.
According to the ministry bulletin, the total number of registered marriages was 206 contracts in June, while the total number of divorce cases was 55.
There was a significant increase in the number of beneficiaries of social security as the figure reached 14,180 till June this year. The figure showed a monthly increase of 5.4% in comparison to the May figure.
The total value of social security reached QR83mn during June, a monthly increase of 6.2% as compared to May.
In regard to traffic cases, a total of 487 cases were recorded during June, resulting in a monthly decrease of 12.7% compared to May, when the figures stood at 558. Seventeen death cases were recorded during June.
The bulletin also highlighted that the total number of vehicles registered in June stood at 4,471, a decrease of 41.6% compared to May, when the total number of registered vehicles was 7,651.
As for building permits, the total number reached 411 permits during June, recording a monthly decrease of 43.5% compared to May.
Total broad money supply (M2) recorded about QR532bn during June, showing an annual increase of 7.7% compared with June last year.
