The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) has announced that it will temporarily close eastbound access to Al Rayyan Road from Al Rayyan Roundabout and Al Amir Street towards Olympic Roundabout.

The closure comes into effect Tuesday and will remain in place until August 4, the authority has said in a press statement.
As shown on the attached map, road users travelling eastbound towards Olympic Roundabout have been advised to exit Al Rayyan Roundabout on to Al Rayyan Al Ateek Street, continue straight and take the second exit on Al Lebdaya Roundabout and continue onwards. At the traffic signals turn left onto Al Rayyan Road, they can continue straight and use Al Rayyan Bridge towards Olympic Roundabout.
These closures, together with the temporary closure of Al Rayyan Flyover implemented last week, are required to enable road upgrade works on a section of Al Rayyan Road and the opening of an underpass that will connect Jasim Bin Hamad Street to Al Rayyan Road as part of Ashghal’s Al Rayyan Road Upgrade Phase Two project, the statement explains.
Ashghal has advised road users to abide by the reduced speed limit of 50kph along Al Rayyan Al Ateek Street, and follow the newly implemented traffic road signs to ensure their safety.
The road closure has been designed in co-ordination with the General Directorate of Traffic.
