Board member Mohamed Mahdy al-Ahbabi will lead the delegation comprising 50 businessmen, Qatar Chamber said in a statement.
The visit aims to review ways to enhance trade relations between Qatar and Turkey, and exploring available investment opportunities in both countries. It also aims to establish business enterprises and alliances between Qatari and Turkish companies, the statement said.
Al-Ahbabi said he expects the visit to open opportunities to discuss ways of expanding trade cooperation and establishing “genuine partnerships” between Qatar and Turkey’s business sectors.
“The robust relations both the countries enjoy have encouraged businessmen to strengthen their ties for the advantage of private sector in both friendly countries,” al-Ahbabi noted.
Qatar Chamber director-general Saleh bin Hamad al-Sharqi said the visit “emphasises the depth of relations between Qatar and Turkey and aims to enhance relations between Qatari and Turkish business owners, leading to further cooperation at all various trade and investment fields.”
Al-Sharqi said Qatari businessmen “are very interested” to explore the Turkish market and to build economic alliances with their counterparts. He also said Qatar Chamber and the Turkish Chambers Union “agreed to intensify mutual visits between businessmen.”
“The period ahead will see visits of Turkish delegations to Qatar and there is a second visit to Turkey, which will be organised later,” al-Sharqi said.
He also lauded Turkey’s efforts to support Qatar during the Gulf crisis, including the immediate supply of foodstuffs to the local market via air cargo, and the launch of a marine route linking the Hamad and Izmir ports.
