The current restrictions on transportation from certain GCC countries has not affected Astad’s construction projects, chief executive officer Ali al-Khalifa has said.

“We have co-ordinated efforts on a national level with all stakeholders to find solutions and mitigate all risks. We have found many alternative sources at competitive prices and of a higher quality. All projects are going ahead as normal with alternative suppliers, sources and shipping routes in place," he stressed while speaking at a 'Tamim Al Majd' mural signing ceremony held at Astad’s headquarters in West Bay.

“We are proud to have been awarded 11 new projects this year and remain committed to ensuring the timely delivery of projects throughout our journey towards Qatar National Vision 2030,” he said, noting that the existing economic conditions are not delaying any of the projects Astad is currently working on in Qatar.

Astad has installed a 'Tamim Al Majd' mural, bearing an image of His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, at its headquarters. The signing ceremony was led by al-Khalifa who signed on the mural, expressing support and solidarity for HH the Emir and Qatar, alongside all Astad employees.

"As a Qatari company, we are very proud today to show our solidarity for our nation and our Emir," al-Khalifa said.

Astad manages and ensures the delivery of vast construction projects in Qatar. One of the most anticipated projects the company is working on is the National Museum of Qatar, which continues to make steady progress with the recent announcement of its December 2018 inauguration.
