The Egyptian ministerial committee on following up on the situation of Egyptian citizens working in Qatar said that all indications confirm that condition of the Egyptian community in Qatar is normal.
The committee met yesterday under the leadership of Egyptian Minister of Social Solidarity, Ghada Wali, and Egyptian Minister of State for Migration and Egyptian Affairs, Abroad Nabila Makram, in the presence of representatives from the foreign ministry, national aviation company, manpower ministry and the entities concerned, the Egyptian Middle East News Agency reported.
Wali said, during the meeting they reviewed the situation of the Egyptian community residing in Qatar.  Nabila Makram and the foreign ministry representative confirmed the situation to be stable.
They further reviewed the efforts made by the Egyptian consulate and the labour counsellor to communicate with the community members to check on them, and all indications confirm the situation is normal.
Nabila Makram confirmed the need to not follow or believe the rumours.
The Egyptian Minister of Social Solidarity had previously stated that the number of Egyptians residing in Qatar ranges between 250,000 and 300,000. They are engaged in a variety of professions and all of them are stable at work.
