Qatar ranks as the Arab world’s “most innovative country”, thanks to Qatar National Vision (QNV) 2030’s government-led digital transformation, Ooredoo has said, citing the World Economic Forum’s latest Global Competitiveness Report.
One of the biggest factors, Ooredoo says, is Qatar ranking as the world’s second-best in government procurement of advanced IT.
Talking about its continued investment in Qatar’s digital drive and QNV 2030, Ooredoo Qatar chief operating officer Yousuf al-Kubaisi said: “Ooredoo is dedicated to providing global best practices and technologies for our government and businesses partnerships. These collaborations are driving Qatar’s economic competitiveness, supporting employee productivity and job creation, and enhancing the citizen experience.
“Ooredoo is working closely with a wide range of Qatari government agencies to deliver strong success through innovative digital services, from advanced network infrastructure to next-generation mobile apps.”
Providing the foundation for smart services, the Ministry of Transport and Communications recently inaugurated Ooredoo’s expanded Qatar Data Centre.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is also connecting over 100 diplomatic missions worldwide with Ooredoo network infrastructure, including secure phone and video conferencing solutions.
Supporting healthy living, the Ministry of Culture and Sports - in partnership with Ooredoo - launched the ‘Sports for All’ mobile app for residents to find their nearest sports arena.
“Qatar’s organisations can leverage the Ooredoo advantage, which makes Ooredoo ‘Best for Business’, thanks to its breadth and depth of talent, best fixed and mobile networks, broadest portfolio of ICT services and solutions, and the fact that it has been a trusted partner for 60 years,” Ooredoo said in a press statement.
