EU and Kuwait stressed the need to preserve the Gulf unity and resolve the current crisis in the region within the GCC framework.
The remarks came in a joint statement that was issued following talks between Sheikh Mohamed Abdullah al-Mubarak al-Sabah, Kuwait’s Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs and acting Minister of Information, and Federica Mogherini, the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kuwait’s official news agency KUNA reported.
The meeting, which took place in Dubrovnik in Croatia, discussed the latest developments of the current regional crisis.
The EU reiterated the need to preserve the unity and stability of the Gulf and find a solution within the framework of the GCC, expressing “full support for the efforts of the Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah,” said the statement.
