The Overseas Nepalese Forum Qatar (ONFQ) recently organised its fifth convention at the Gulf Paradise Hotel. ONFQ is a sister organisation of the Communist Party of Nepal-Unified Marxist Leninist (CPN-UML). 
The conference was presided by ONFQ chairman Ramhari Gaire. The chief guest was CPN-UML secretary Pritivi Subba Gurung. 
In his speech, Gurung said everyone should love their country no matter where they go. He talked about the recent political situation Nepal. 
He also thanked the government of Qatar for hosting more than 400,000 Nepali employees, and requested the non-resident Nepalese community to strictly follow the rules and regulations of the host county. Gurung was the former Minister for Tourism, culture and Civil Aviation of Nepal. 
Nepali ambassador Ramesh Prasad Khanal encouraged Nepali expatriates to approach the embassy directly in case they are facing any issues. 
He also highlighted the role of embassy and its focus on bilateral relationship between the two countries. He advised all Nepalis to follow the country’s rules and regulations
During a closed session, ONFQ unanimously elected its new working committee led by Chanak Pokheral. Dorna Bahadur Basnet, Jiya Babu Khan, Chanilal Rajbanshi, Purna Bahadur Nepali, Sajani KC Karki and Abdul Hafiz were elected the vice-chairmen. Munaf Miya is the new secretary, Parbath Tripati the co-secretary and Chet Narayan Shrestha the treasurer of the society. 
Balkrishna Vitrikoti, Eai Bahadur Khatri, Bishnu Prasad Gautam, Ramnath Sharma, Khem Bhadur Rana, Derbendra Khadka, Manju Gurung, Purna Nepali are among the new members of the ONFQ working committee.
