A number of Qataris have decided to stay in the country for the Eid al-Fitr holidays instead of travelling abroad, stressing that the country has some of the best entertainment and recreational facilities.
Local Arabic daily Arrayah reported yesterday that a good number of Qataris also affirmed that the current blockade imposed by some neighbouring GCC countries has had no influence on tourist movement and related services as Qatar has become a tourist destination with world-class facilities.
“Our country is full of good things and has become a global tourist destination, receiving tourists from around the world. After the considerable support given by Oman and Kuwait, we wholeheartedly welcome their citizens to enjoy the holidays in Qatar,” said Fatima al-Ghazal, a citizen.
She pointed out that everything that could add to the joy of Eid holidays was available in the country, including festivities, hotels, restaurants and recreational facilities of different types.
Khalid Fakhro, another Qatari, stressed that he would remain in the country for the Eid holidays. While noting that everything is available in the country despite the blockade and life continues as usual, he praised the solidarity expressed by the Omanis and Kuwaitis. He also expressed belief that all forms of entertainment are available in the country that will guarantee enjoyable holidays.
Another citizen, Najib al-Sawadi, said above the crisis has highlighted the strength and endurance of Qatar and its people. He added that Qatar enjoys the highest standards of safety and security,
guaranteeing joyous holidays.
Mariam al-Humaidi stressed that many Qataris have chosen to enjoy the Eid holidays together in the country as a way to express their love for their homeland.
