Local Arabic daily Arrayah said in its editorial on Wednesday that the strategy adopted by Abu Dhabi on behalf of the entire United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the relations with countries, interference in their affairs, attempts to distort the image of others and fabricate accusations against them, is not similar to that we know of the Emirates of the late Sheikh Zayed, the late Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed al-Maktoum, and Sheikh Mohamed bin Rashid.
These conflicting policies, the paper said, do not reflect the official viewpoint of the UAE or express the convictions of its people and rulers, adding that it counts on Sheikh Mohamed bin Rashid, who is known for his wisdom and farsightedness and his brothers, the rulers of the other emirates, in correcting Abu Dhabi policy.
Arrayah, meanwhile, condemned UAE’s accusations and fabrications against the State of Qatar in supporting terrorism and establishing relations with Iran, pointing out that the relations between the UAE and Iran, according to observers of the geopolitical developments in the region, are more strong and co-ordinated at the current time, especially after the lifting of US sanctions on Tehran and the end of the Iranian nuclear crisis.
The Qatar daily noted that statistics indicate that the volume of trade exchange between the UAE and Iran last year exceeded $20bn and there are about 200 flights a week between the two countries, expressing surprise that Abu Dhabi denounced Doha to establish relations with Tehran as any normal relations between countries.
Arrayah said in conclusion that the wise people of the UAE must put an end to these irresponsible and individual situations of Abu Dhabi that has weakened its foreign policy.
