Ashghal awarded contracts worth QR815mn for building infrastructure facilities in three Citizens' Sub-Divisions Development projects in different areas of Qatar.

The projects, spread over approximately 1,672 land plots, where infrastructural developments are to take place, are Al Froosh/Al Kharaitiyat (Package 1), Rawdat Edgaim/Ighawa (Package 1) and North of Al Nassiriya (Package 2).
At a meeting at Ashghal headquarters, it was announced that works of the projects would start sometime next month and completed by the second quarter of 2019.
Ashghal president and senior engineer Saad bin Ahmed al-Muhannadi said the signing of contracts demonstrated the Public Works Authority's determination and commitment to deliver excellent infrastructure for its citizens' sub-divisions, which included residential, commercial, educational, and recreational facilities.
He explained that all Citizens Sub-division projects are being implemented in active co-ordination with Kahramaa and Ministry of Municipality and Environment and are in line with the directives of Minister of Municipality and Environment HE Mohamed bin Abdullah al-Rumaihi.
Al-Muhannadi also said Ashghal is committed to adhere to the schedule for completing the infrastructure of the citizens' sub-divisions. As per the ongoing plans, infrastructure facilities would be provided for 10,400 land plots spread over 13 projects across the country over the next five years. Infrastructure works for 1,829 plots have been completed so far.
Kahramaa president and senior engineer Issa bin Hilal al-Kuwari said their organisation is working in tandem with the authorities concerned of various departments to realise the ambitious goal of providing excellent water and electricity networks to the plots covered under the Citizens Sub-Division Development projects.
At the ceremony yesterday, a contract worth QR265mn was awarded to Bin Omran Trading & Contracting Company for building infrastructure facilities in Al Froosh/Al Kharaitiyat project (Package 1). Approximately 18km of local roads and 33km of sewage networks would be built under this project, covering 619 land plots.
The same company also received a contract worth QR243mn for Rawdat Egdaim/Izghawa project, which covers 592 land plots. More than 19.8km of local road networks and 19.5km sewage networks are to be built there.
A joint venture of Boom Construction Company and Lotus Contracting Company was awarded works amounting to QR306mn for building infrastructure in the North of Al Nassiriya project. The work covers 461 land plots and 25km local roads and 27km of sewage networks.
Ashghal assistant president engineer Abdulla Hamad al-Attiyah, Infrastructure Affairs director engineer Mohamed Masoud al-Marri and Roads Project Department manager engineer Saoud Ali al-Tamimi also answered the queries regarding various projects.
