Qatar Chamber and Tawar Mall have announced a joint initiative to support Qatari industry through a strategic partnership targeting entrepreneurs and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
The announcement was made in the presence of Qatar Chamber director general Saleh bin Hamad al-Sharqi and Tawar Mall chairman Jassim bin Jabor Tawar al-Kuwari during a Suhoor held recently at Tawar Mall. The initiative supports Qatar Chamber’s efforts to enhance social responsibility and to support “productive families in Qatar.” The initiative also aims “to patronise and promote” the products of “productive families” at Tawar Mall, which is scheduled to hold its soft opening in September.
Al-Sharqi praised the initiative of Tawar Mall, which he described as “unique”. He also assured that it would strengthen efforts to support SMEs in Qatar and that it would have “a positive impact” on the Qatari market and the economy. “There is a great interest from mall owners to develop local products. The mall includes a host of international brands alongside Qatari products,” said al-Sharqi, who added that Qatar Chamber will promote Tawar Mall locally and internationally.
The products of “productive families” will be displayed in the mall at a dedicated space called ‘Old Market’, which will be built with an antique design. The mall includes halls events and exhibitions, which can also be used to promote the Qatari products. “At least 60% of the total space is booked and the soft opening will be in September,” al-Kuwari said.
He emphasised that Qatar’s economy “is robust and resilient to crises,” and noted that Tawar Mall had signed many contracts before the Gulf diplomatic crisis started.
Al-Kuwari said Tawar Mall “is honoured to co-operate with Qatar Chamber” and noted that there are “numerous new ideas” to be implemented by both sides “in the near future.” He also paid tribute to the Chamber’s role in supporting and developing the Qatari trading institutions “to achieve growth and continuity.”
