The World Health Organisation (WHO) has conferred the World No Tobacco Day Award for the Middle East for 2017 on Dr Ahmed al-Mulla, senior adviser for Public Health and Disease Control, head of the Hamad Medical Corporation’s Smoking Cessation Clinic and adviser to the Minister of Public Health.
He is being honoured for his efforts to combat smoking in Qatar and the rest of the Middle East through a number of awareness, treatment and research activities.
The award ceremony will be held later in the presence of the WHO Director General.
