The Ministry of Transport and Communications, General Civil Aviation Authority and Qatar Postal Services Company (Q-Post) have handed over to the international organisations, their legal files regarding the legal violations, damage and the blockade measures imposed on Qatar by Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain.
In a statement to the Qatar News Agency (QNA), the Ministry of Transport and Communications expressed confidence in the international organisations that are working to implement their conventions and laws, stressing that there is a flagrant violation of all international conventions and norms of civil aviation as well as of maritime norms, freedom of movement and the related international and regional agreements deposited with international organisations.
The Ministry of Transport and Communications has initiated contacts with the general-secretariat of the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) to discuss the violations due to the blockade which could cause damage to maritime safety.
The organisation has formed a working group to examine these violations.
In the same context, the General Authority of Civil Aviation has continued to work with the UN’s International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) to discuss the actions of the three Gulf countries against the Qatari national carrier’s flights, which could jeopardise air safety.
Meanwhile, Qatar Postal Services Company (Q-Post) has communicated with the Universal Postal Union (UPU) in the same regard and confirmed that the suspension of postal transactions with the three Gulf countries is a clear violation of the constitution and conventions of the Universal Postal Union, with which all UPU member-states must comply. – QNA
