Ooredoo announced yesterday the official launch of a new service on self-service machines (SSMs) that will enable users to pay their bills via cheque.
The new service is part of a series of enhancements to Ooredoo eServices and the SSM network in 2017. The new feature, a first in the region, was designed to offer even more convenience for Ooredoo customers, as well as boost the self-service user experience further in Qatar.
Available in selected areas such as the Ooredoo Shop along Airport Road, Ezdan Mall, Gharafa, Souq Waqif, Ansar Gallery Barwa and Katara, the SSMs can be used by both consumer and business customers who are paying with cheques.
Manar Khalifa al-Muraikhi, director, PR and Corporate Communications at Ooredoo Qatar, said: “We are proud to be first telecommunications company in Qatar and in the region to introduce cheque payment through our self-service machines.
“We have invested on this update as part our commitment to change and enhance our customer experience.
Thanks to the new services, people no longer have to stand in line to make their payments by cheque as they can be deposited via our self-service machines 24/7.”
SSM users have to select the Ooredoo bill payment service, enter their account or service number, write and sign their cheque, then input the payment into the dedicated cheque slot.
Ooredoo customers can also pay for services by cash or credit/debit card, 24/7. In addition to paying for Ooredoo services, Ooredoo SSM users can pay Kahramaa bills and purchase vouchers for a range of shopping and dining experiences.
