Qatar Steel participated in the recently held Project Qatar, showcasing its products, including rebar and wiring rod used in building and constructions projects.
“Our company is keen to participate in Project Qatar every year, due to its strategic importance, taking into consideration that it is a good platform for construction and building companies to meet, communicate and further consolidate their business relations,” Ali bin Hasan al-Muraikhi, Qatar Steel managing director and general manager, said.
Qatar Steel was established in 1974 as the first integrated steel plant in the Arabian Gulf. Commercial production started in 1978, with it becoming wholly-owned by Industries Qatar in 2003. Today, Qatar Steel is widely recognised as a foremost leader in the steel industry and it has gained an outstanding reputation in local and regional markets.
“Qatar Steel is looking forward to achieving sustainable development, and it is adopting the best international practices and the highest quality and sustainable standards in manufacturing steel products,” al-Muraikhi said.
Through its participation in Project Qatar, Qatar Steel aims at enhancing its leading position in local, regional and Gulf markets, and to get closer with traders and customers in the Middle East and the GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) countries, with a view to building up continual and successful business relations and partnerships, he said.
