Qatar, Norway discuss dispute settlement
HE the Foreign Minister’s special envoy on Counterterrorism and mediation in disputes’ settlements ambassador Dr Mutlaq bin Majed al-Qahtani met the Secretary General of the Norwegian Foreign Ministry Wegger Strommen in Oslo yesterday. During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations and issues of common concern in addition to efforts of the Qatari and the Norwegian mediation in disputes settlement.

Ministry holds workshop for investors in schools
In an effort to stimulate private sector participation in economic development, the Ministry of Economy and Commerce (MEC) will hold a workshop for potential investors for operation and development of private schools in the different areas of the country.
The workshop, being organised in co-ordination with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, will be held on May 15 at MEC headquarter in Lusail City, according to the ministry.
The workshop aims to introduce investors to opportunities, terms and conditions for
tenders.
The MEC has offered to allocate 11 plots of land, each measuring 15,000sq m, at Al Wakrah, Al Khor and Al Rayyan for establishing new private schools.

Real estate transaction
Real estate transaction in Qatar during the period from April 3 till May 4 were worth QR474,147,28, official data showed yesterday.
The weekly bulletin released by the real estate registration department at the Ministry of Justice said that the types of real estate traded ranged from plots of land, houses to villas and multi-purpose buildings.
The majority of the trading took place in Umm Salal, Al Khor, Al Shamal, Doha, Al Rayyan, Al Da’ayen and Al Wakrah.

Ministry recalls Chevrolet Trax 2015-16 models
The Ministry of Economy and Commerce (MEC), in collaboration with Jaidah automotive, has announced the recall of Chevrolet Trax 2015-2016 models over a potential defect in the audible warning system when the key is left in the ignition or when the seat belt is not fastened.
The MEC said the recall campaign comes within the framework of its ongoing efforts to protect consumers and ensure that car dealers follow up on vehicle defects and repairs.
The MEC will co-ordinate with the dealer to follow up on the maintenance and repair works and communicate with customers to ensure that the necessary repairs are carried out.

Qatar attends meeting of Arab health ministers’ panel
The third meeting of the Technical Advisory Committee of the Council of Arab Ministers of Health kicked off yesterday at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Arab League.
Qatar is taking part in the meeting with a delegation headed by Director of the Department of International Health Relations at the Ministry of Health, Abdullatif Ali al-Abdullah.
On the sidelines of the meeting, al-Abdullah told Qatar News Agency (QNA) that the committee will discuss a number of items, the most important of which are the health conditions in the occupied Palestinian territories, including East Jerusalem and the occupied Syrian Golan along with the speech of the Council of Arab Ministers of Health before the 70th session of the General Assembly of the World Health Organisation (WHO) due to be hold in Geneva in May.
