A Doha Criminal Court has sentenced a Pakistani national to 15 years in jail, and imposed a fine of QR200,000 on him for illicit drugs trade and consumption.
The court also ordered his deportation after serving the sentence.
Local Arabic daily Arrayah reported that the expatriate was convicted of keeping various quantities of marijuana, heroin and hashish, in addition to methadone pills. 
The crime was discovered after an undercover policeman informed authorities concerned about the Pakistani expatriate’s suspicious activities. 
After investigation, police took the necessary legal action to raid his house. The drugs were found inside his room and he was accompanied by a friend at the time of the arrest but he testified that his friend had nothing to do with the illicit business. 
At the interrogation, the defendant admitted his guilt.
