HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani has sent a written message to Sudan’s President Omar Hassan al-Bashir, inviting him to participate in the 17th Doha Forum. Qatar’s ambassador to Sudan Rashid bin Abdulrahman al-Nuaimi handed over the message to Sudan’s president in Khartoum yesterday.

cables of congratulations to Sierra Leone President Dr Ernest Bai Koroma on the occasion of the anniversary of his country’s Independence Day.

Court participates
in Manama meeting



Qatar participated in the fourth meeting of the heads of the GCC supreme courts and courts of cassation with a delegation headed by President of the Cassation Court and Chairman of the Supreme Judicial Council Masoud Mohamed al-Amiri.
The two-day meeting, which concluded yesterday in Manama, discussed several issues including follow-up report on the implementation of the strategic plan for the GCC supreme courts and courts of cassation, training judges of the GCC supreme courts and courts of cassation, launching the website of the supreme courts and courts of cassation, and calling member states to provide the Secretariat with the regulations and laws governing the work of the supreme courts and courts of cassation.
 The meeting also discussed the preparation of a programme to visit a number of supreme courts with different judicial systems in other country in the world, and agreed on the importance of holding workshops on topics that facilitate litigation procedures and contribute to expedite the adjudication of disputes.
