The Dashat Al Hadaq will take off from Katara Beach to the Ashaat Reserve (10km from the coastline), which will serve as the site of the sixth edition of the Senyar 2017 tournament, the organising committee has announced.
Some 76 teams will take part in the competition, which concludes on April 28 when the traditional dhows return to Katara Beach to celebrate Al-Qafal.
The homecoming of the participants will be welcomed by their relatives with song and merriment.
Three offshore bases have been installed near Ashaat Island as the headquarters of the competition.
The first base is dedicated to the lodging of the organising committee members, referees, photographers, and journalists.
The second base is for the daily reception of the traditional dhows participating in Senyar, set up to weigh the fishes at the end of the competition.
The third base is dedicated to live broadcasting devices and screens.
