Indian Cultural Centre (ICC), in association with Ministry of Interior (MOI), conducted the Cultural Fest for blue-collar workers which entertained them with a new experience. The cultural evening was aimed at providing entertainment to the workers as well as providing awareness sessions on various topics of importance to them. 
Performances were conducted by labourers themselves and also by different troupes. Awareness programmes were held by Permanent Committee of Drugs and Alcohol Affairs from MOI, Public Relations Department of MOI, Community Police Department of MOI and Civil Defence Department.
The function was inaugurated by Ambassador of India to Qatar P Kumaran. 
He congratulated the ICC for conducting such programme for the blue-collar workers and told that his office is open always for workers to approach. He also encouraged workers to attend the reach-out programmes conducted by the embassy when needed. Captain Ahmed Abdul Karim al-Hammadi from Ministry of Interior was the guest of honour and he addressed the gathering. He also appreciated ICC initiatives of conducting such a function for blue-collar workers and promised all support from different departments of Ministry of Interior for the future events too. 
He said MOI is committed to the welfare and well-being of workers and all expatriate community in Qatar. ICC President Milan Arun welcomed the audience and she thanked the Qatari government and leadership for providing all support and care to the expat community in Qatar. Head of Finance Girish Jain proposed vote of thanks while Head of Membership K S Prasad conducted the public function prior to the cultural event.
The Cultural Fest was attended by workers from more than 40 companies in Qatar. They enjoyed different programmes such as cinematic and folk performances, Hindi and regional language songs, magic show, etc. Those were performed by workers themselves as well as professional teams such as Trends Qatar etc. 
Workers were over thrilled at the occasion and were made to dance during the programme themselves. Kamal Sharma conducted the cultural session of the evening. Awareness kiosks were put up by Ministry of Interior and sessions were conducted by various departments of MOI. 
Awareness on Drugs session was conducted by session chairman First Warrant Officer Abdullah Mutleq al-Shammari, who is a certified trainer from Permanent Committee for Drugs and Alcohol Affairs and was assisted by Dr Nadir Abba along with officers Abdul Rahman Muhammed Eisa, Khalid Khudadad and Waleed Salih Nassi.  
Awareness of Pedestrian Safety was conducted by Nihas Abdul Majeed, Media Researcher from Public Relations Department of MOI. Dr Bahauddeen Muhammed from Community Police Department led the session on awareness of Community Police in Qatar. 
Warrant officer Abdul Azeez al-Ruwaily from Civil Defence Department and Faisal al-Hudawi from Public Relations Department led the sessions respectively on How to Fight Fire and awareness on Qatar’s custom and tradition. Company representatives who participated the sessions really appreciated the MOI initiatives to educate the workers and support provided to the community. Gifts were given out to the workers who participated in the events by Ambassador P Kumaran.
The Cultural Fest was organised by ICC General Secretary Juttas Paul, Head of Sports Jaffar Khan, Vice President A P Manikantan along with ICC Managing Committee members and community representatives K R Jayaraj, Jees Joseph, Abdul Aziz, Subramany Hebbaglu and Mohammad Imran.
Ambassador P Kumaran presented a memento to Ministry of Interior for their support and co-operation extended to Indian Cultural Centre and Indian community at large. 
Mementos were also given to the sponsors of the event by Ambassador P Kumaran and Captain Ahmed Abdul Karim al-Hammadi. Platinum sponsors of the event were Grand Kerala Jewellers, Matrix and Gold Sponsors were Red Apple Events, Premier Teknomedia, Omega Engineering and Triune Engineering.
