Eljaish Sports Club, in co-operation with Qatar Foundation (QF), has organised a new football tournament for 11-year-old players under the name ‘Eljaish – Qatar Foundation Youth Football Cup’.
The tournament will take place tomorrow at Awsaj Recreation Center with the primary objective of developing talented players. Participating teams will be formed from eight different schools and sports academies in Qatar.
The cup forms part of Eljaish’s ongoing corporate social responsibility strategy, and their belief in using sport to connect schools and clubs to bring the community closer together.
The tournament will be played according to a one-round league system to determine the winning team. The participating teams include QF Recreation Center, Qatar Academy – Doha, Evolution Sports Academy, Premier League Academy, Future Football Academy, Pro Inter Soccer team, and Qsport.
Each team will include players from Eljaish’s First Division football team, imparting the young players an inspirational and educational experience.
Run in co-operation with QF, the objectives of the tournament are to primarily promote the importance of team spirit and fair play,  to discover talented players, and foster a greater awareness about the importance of leading healthy and active lifestyles, aligning with QF’s mission to promote a healthy lifestyle from an early age.
The tournament will be held under the slogan “Play for Glory” which was created by Eljaish Sports Club to inspire the young players and incite them to follow their football dreams.
Khamis Mubarak al-Kuwari, secretary general of Eljaish Sports Club, said the idea behind the youth tournament is aligned with the club’s mission to contribute to community development, which was established when the club was founded.
“We strongly believe our co-operation with Qatar Foundation is a major step in exchanging experiences in the sports field and in spreading awareness among children about the importance of sport and its benefits.”
Mohamed al-Saoud, head of the Recreation Services at QF, said: “We are delighted to co-operate with Eljaish Sports Club on this new youth football tournament.”
