Turkish Airlines has added Kharkiv as its 297th destination, across 120 countries, with the inaugural flight taking place recently. By launching flights to Kharkiv, the carrier “demonstrated its efforts to further enhance its expansion strategy”, the airline said in a press statement.
From March 30, Kharkiv flights are being operated four times a week — on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. This will increase to seven times per week from May 30, the statement notes.
Round-trip fares are available from Istanbul to Kharkiv, the second largest city in Ukraine, from $109 (including taxes and fees).
Additionally, for the first six months of operations to the new destination, there is a special offer for Miles&Smiles members, with a 25% reduction in the miles needed to redeem either award tickets or upgrades. The Kharkiv flight schedule is as follows: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday — TK1473 departing Istanbul at 6.40am and arriving in Kharkiv at 8.50am, and TK1474 departing Kharkiv at 9.45am and arriving in Istanbul at 12.25pm. The frequency will increase to seven flights weekly from May 30; the schedule of the additional flights is as follows: Tuesday, Friday and Saturday — TK1475 departing Istanbul at 6.40pm and arriving in Kharkiv at 8.50pm, and TK1476 departing Kharkiv at 9:45pm and arriving in Istanbul at 12.25am (+1).
