The temperature has touched the 40C mark in parts of the country, weather charts show. Abu Samra and Karana, both in southern Qatar, recorded a maximum temperature of 42C and 40C respectively yesterday. Today, Abu Samra is expected to see the mercury reaching a high of 41C, according to the Qatar Met department. Other places that recorded temperatures above 35C yesterday were Sheehaniya (38C), Batna (38C), Jumayliyah (37C) and Turayna (36C), while in Doha (airport area) the maximum was 32C. The maximum in Doha is likely to be 33C today. The minimum, on the other hand, was 20C in Abu Samra, with Doha recording 24C. Today, the minimum will be 21C in Abu Samra and 24C in Doha.
