The weekly Cabinet meeting, presided over by HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Zaid al-Mahmoud, approved a proposal by the Ministry of Interior to amend some provisions of the Council of Ministers decision No 33 of 2010, establishing the National Committee for Traffic Safety.
Giving details following the meeting at the Emiri Diwan, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs said according to the proposal, the membership of the said committee shall include HE the Minister of Transport and Communications who will be first vice-chairman of the committee.
The weekly meeting also approved a draft agreement establishing a joint committee for economic, commercial and technical co-operation between the governments of Qatar and Ukraine.
It also approved a draft air services agreement between the governments of Qatar and Angola.
The meeting also approved a draft co-operation agreement in the field of agriculture between Qatar’s Ministry of Municipality and Environment and Latvia’s Ministry of Agriculture.
The Cabinet approved a draft memorandum of understanding for co-operation in the field of health between the governments of Qatar and the Philippines.
It also approved a draft memorandum of understanding for co-operation in the fields of youth and sports between Qatar’s Ministry of Culture and Sports and Malta’s Ministry of Education and Employment.
The Cabinet’s regular weekly meeting reviewed the following topics and took appropriate decisions:
1. A recommendation by Advisory Council on a draft law amending some provisions of Law No 8 of 1990 concerning the regulation of human food control;
2. A memorandum by the Minister of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs on a proposal to form a national committee to prepare the second periodic report of the State of Qatar on the implementation of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women;
3. Recommendations of the committee formed to study the proposals of the National Committee for Traffic Safety on road traffic congestion and the views of the concerned authorities in this regard.
