Forestry officials take part in a wild elephant census in the Mahananda Wildlife Sanctuary on the outskirts of Siliguri yesterday. The forest department of the eastern state of West Bengal together with other northeastern states are conducting a wild elephant census between March 27-29, based on dung density and direct sighting method.
