Emir greets president of Bangladesh
HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, HH the Deputy Emir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad al-Thani and HE the Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani have sent cables of congratulations to Bangladesh President Mohamed Abdul Hamid on the anniversary of his country’s Independence Day. Meanwhile, President Mohamed Abdul Hamid met Qatar’s ambassador to Bangladesh Ahmed bin Mohamed al-Dehaimi, in Dhaka on the occasion of the Independence Day of Bangladesh.
 The meeting reviewed bilateral relations between the two countries and means of advancing and supporting them, in addition to issues of common concern.

FM meets Libyan prime minister
HE the Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani met the Chairman of the Presidential Council of Libya and Prime Minister of the government of National Accord Fayez al-Sarraj and his accompanying delegation. They discussed bilateral relations and ways to support, develop and strengthen aspects of co-operation. In addition, they discussed topics of common concern. The Foreign Minister stressed Qatar’s support for the Libyan people and the government of national accord in their bid to reach a political solution through a national reconciliation that respects Libya’s policy.

Culture Ministry to celebrate World Theatre Day
The Ministry of Culture and Sports, represented by the Centre for Theatre Affairs, is organising a special celebration in Qatar National Theatre today to mark the World Theatre Day (WTD).
The celebration brings together a number of institutions of the Ministry of Culture and Sport, including the centres of Musical Arts, Visual Arts, and ‘Civilised Conscience’. The programme includes various artistic and cultural events, including the play The Wood Told Me directed by Jassim al-Ansari and performed by a selection of actors.
This year, the Ministry of Culture is also joining the global celebrations of WTD, as part of its ongoing efforts aimed at strengthening the value of the theatre and raising awareness about its educational role in the community.
