Highlight Nepal Concept Vision and QN Khabar jointly organised the screening of Nepali blockbuster movie Loot 2 at the Global Cinema Hall in Doha recently.
The first Loot was made and released before the April 2015 earthquake and the Indian blockade and was about a bank robbery. Loot 2 is set during the time of the Indian blockade, after the earthquake of 2015. It was released on February 24. Directed by Nischal Basnet and produced by Madhav Wagle and Narendra Maharjan, Loot 2 tries to create the same magic it did with its first instalment with its characters.
About 500 Nepalis attended the screening.
In the movie, Gofle (Dayahang Rai), Nare (Karma), Deban (Prateek) and Pandey (Sushil) run away from the jail right after the earthquake. The fugitives are in search of Haku Kale (Saugat Malla), believing that he was the cause of their arrest. The simplistic plot of the film is elevated by its excellent use of comedy. The actors give A-grade performances.
In Loot 2, Haku Kale seems more fierce, more powerful and smarter. His opponents, Gofle, Nare, Khatri, and Pandey are portrayed as miserable and pitiful characters. The first half of the film shows the ever-changing lifestyle of Haku Kale, highlighting his shrewdness. The second-half comes to life with action sequences as Haku and his opponents cross paths.
The organisers said the movie will be also be screened in Al Khor on March 31.
