Advisory Council observer and chairman of the Committee on Interior and Foreign Affairs Mohamed bin Abdullah al-Sulaiti received a delegation from the Indonesian Parliament, led by the head of the First Commission of the House of Representatives, Dr H Abdul Kharis Almasyhari, in his office recently.
The meeting discussed a number of issues and topics of mutual concern and al-Sulaiti also gave a briefing on the Advisory Council and its work mechanism.
Dr Almasyhari expressed his gratitude and good wishes to the council, stressing that Indonesia considered Qatar as a strategic partner, and lauded the role and contribution of the Advisory Council in enhancing relations between the two countries. On his part, al-Sulaiti expressed similar views - considered Indonesia a strategic partner - and added that ties between the two countries were marked by shared fraternity and brotherhood, religion, culture and common interest. Indonesian ambassador Mohamed Bassiri Sidihabi said the visit provided the right moment for further cementing ties between the two brotherly nations, noting that it also marked the 40th anniversary of bilateral relations between the two countries.
