Emir to patronise education day event
HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani will patronise today the 10th Education Excellence Day award ceremony, which will take place at Sheraton Doha. Organised by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, the ceremony will award excellent students from Qatar in eight different categories.

March 5 holiday for banks, exchange houses
Qatar Central Bank (QCB) has announced that March 5 will be an official holiday for all banks and financial institutions under its supervision. A QCB press release issued yesterday said that banks, exchange houses, investment and financial companies as well as insurance firms will be closed to the public on that date, in accordance with the Council of Ministers’ Decision No 33 of 2009 which stipulates that the first Sunday of every March shall be an official holiday for all banks and financial institutions.
