The Ooredoo tv app store content now contains over 30 applications, Ooredoo has said in a press statement.
The company has highlighted the growing content as part of its push to “offer the best and latest digital content in Qatar”.
“Ooredoo tv offers a complete entertainment service for Qatar with the latest live TV and video on demand services, as well as digital applications dedicated to video, music, games, news and more,” the statement noted.
Top Ooredoo tv applications include the Qur’an Al Kareem, Tune In, Al Jazeera, XITE and YouTube.
Fatima Sultan al-Kuwari, director of community and public relations at Ooredoo, said: “With an Ooredoo tv box, our customers can enjoy free and premium content from all over the world via live TV and video-on-demand, as well as a growing digital library with games, video, music, news and more.
“Entertainment is evolving, it’s not about schedules and recordings any more, it’s about 24/7 access and multi-platform content to keep our customers updated and interested on the go.”
Other available applications include video streaming service Vimeo, photography site Flickr and news sites like Deutsche Welle.
For gamers, Ooredoo tv offers a host of interactive applications to “keep the family entertained”, including the classic game Hangman, the popular Sugar Boost and adventure filled Pirate-Commander game.
“By providing access to these apps for all our Ooredoo tv users, whether on a basic or premium package, we’re enabling everyone to enjoy our leading content solutions,” added al-Kuwari.
To access the apps, one has to press the home button on an Ooredoo tv remote control, go to ‘apps’ and select the ‘more apps’ option to explore the full range available on Ooredoo tv.
Ooredoo tv offers users a 4K service that works with multiple devices and combines apps, on-demand and live television in one easy-to-use box.
Mozaic TV and Ooredoo Broadband customers can access Ooredoo tv by using the “Collect & Go” service at any Ooredoo shop to collect their new Ooredoo tv box.
Installation can be done instantly by customers in their own homes.
Ooredoo tv is available now via Ooredoo shops, Starlink, TechnoBlue and Jumbo outlets.
The service has no upfront charges, no equipment costs and no ongoing contracts.
