Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB) has announced the official opening of a new branch at the Ministry of Endowment and Islamic Affairs (Awqaf) tower in West Bay during the official inauguration attended by senior officials from Awqaf and QIB.
The new branch is located on the ground floor, providing easy access to banking services for Awqaf employees and all visitors. The branch is open Sunday through Thursday from 7:30am to 1pm.
Customers will be able to open bank accounts, apply for financing and credit cards, and consult on all Islamic banking products and services with specialised and experienced
QIB staff.
In keeping with QIB’s vision of offering its customers a smooth banking experience, the new branch is designed with customer convenience in mind, QIB said.
The open-plan layout is enhanced with QIB’s latest branch design, which is currently implemented across all key branches. The new design’s philosophy molds together a palette of natural tones for a modern interpretation of the traditional Islamic values of purity, simplicity and transparency.
“Opening a new branch is always an exciting time since it brings us even closer to our customers and highlights our commitment to be there for our customers wherever they are,” said D Anand, general manager, Personal Banking Group, QIB.
He added: “The new branch is a reflection of our strong relationship with the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs and its employees, who now have easy and time-efficient access to our comprehensive Shariah-compliant services.
“As part of our commitment to be closer to our customers, we are going to open a number of branches in new malls and popular destinations across Qatar. We will be also relocating some existing branches to more convenient locations in order to enable easier access to our products and services for all our existing and new customers.”
Ali Almurham al-Marri, finance department manager at Awqaf, said: “We commend the step taken by Qatar Islamic Bank to open a new branch at the Ministry of Endowment and Islamic Affairs tower. The bank’s move into the tower compliments the services we offer to our visitors and provides an easy access to our employees who already bank with QIB, especially since the ministry and QIB have been collaborating from 1992.”
He added: “We are pleased and appreciate QIB’s contributions to the community and the Islamic banking industry. We welcome them and look forward to their efforts to bringing added value to our place. We wish them success in their endeavors.”
With the opening of the new branch, QIB’s network increased to 28 branches and is complemented by more than 170 ATMs, state-of-the-art banking systems, and electronic channels provide a seamless customer experience on a 24/7 basis.
