QIC Insured, the retail arm of leading insurer QIC, has announced the launch of a new service – reporting motor claims directly through the call centre or via WhatsApp.
Now, QIC Insured policyholders can call 8000 742 or send a WhatsApp message to 50000742 to file a motor claim after an accident. The business hours for QIC Insured’s call centre and WhatsApp service are from 7am until 10pm, Saturday to Thursday, according to a press statement.
The following steps are to be followed for registering claims: report the accident to the traffic department and get the police report, then call 8000 742 or send a WhatsApp message to 50000742 to register the motor claim. “All that’s left then is to drop the car at the assigned workshop for repair,” the statement noted.
QIC Insured can also arrange for the necessary police reports to make the process “even simpler”. For this, customers need to provide the police report reference number and “the rest will be handled by QIC Insured’s customer service,” the statement adds.  Speaking at the launch of the new service, senior claims manager (Motor) Fahad Mohamed al-Suwaidi said: “At QIC, we’re continuously striving to find innovative ways to serve our customers in a better way to make things easy and convenient. The new service offers customers the ease of filing motor claims directly without having to deal with unnecessary delays caused by navigating heavy traffic to go a branch or waiting in a line to file a claim.
“With the launch of this new service, QIC has once again established its distinctive role and presence in the marketplace and we’re hopeful that our customers’ journey through the claims process remains hassle-free.”
