The Qatari Committee for the Reconstruction of Gaza in collaboration with the Palestinian Ministry of Public Works and Housing yesterday held a ceremony to hand over apartments built as part of the second phase of the residential city of HH Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani in Khan Younis, southern Gaza Strip.
The ceremony was attended by ambassador Mohamed al-Emadi, chairman of the Qatari Committee for the Reconstruction of Gaza, former Palestinian prime minister Dr Ismail Haniyeh, Palestinian Minister of Public Works and Housing Dr Mufid al-Hasayneh, Deputy Chairman of the Qatari Committee Khaled al-Hardan, several Palestinian ministers, as well as beneficiaries of the second phase of Hamad City.
Speaking on the occasion, ambassador al-Emadi hailed the efforts of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and HH the Father Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani in support of the Gaza Strip and the implementation of dozens of vital service and housing projects including the HH Sheikh Hamad City.
He also praised Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, Prime Minister of the government of national reconciliation Dr Rami Hamdallah, Haniyeh, and al-Hasayneh for their efforts to facilitate the implementation of the Qatari projects in Gaza.
Al-Emadi also congratulated the Palestinian families benefiting from the second phase of Hamad City in Khan Younis, Gaza Strip, which includes 1,264 residential units.
