Moon and Venus will be seen near each other over Qatar sky on Tuesday, January 31, leading astronomer Dr. Beshir Marzouk said.

These heavenly bodies could be seen in a similar position over other GCC and Arab countries as well where Venus will be at 4.1 degree north to Moon's centre at 5.34pm.

It will be the best time to see and observe Moon and Venus by the naked eye, he said.

Called both the morning and evening star by astronomers, Venus is visible after sunset when it is over the western horizon, and it is the last luminary that can seen before sunrise when it is over the eastern horizon.

Qatar residents will be able to see Venus and Moon after sunset over the western horizon on Tuesday at 5.18 pm. Venus and the Moon can be observed until moonset at 8.38 pm over the Doha sky.
