A Doha Criminal Court has sentenced a Jordanian man to three years in jail and ordered his subsequent deportation for counterfeiting two documents indicating that he had a PhD degree from Jordan University.
Local Arabic daily Arrayah has reported that the defendant submitted five certificates at the attestation department of the Qatar Ministry of Foreign Affairs. However, the employee in charge discovered that two of them were counterfeited. These were of a PhD degree for the defendant.
Investigation also established the guilt of the defendant.
