Renowned Emirati singer Dr Hussain al-Jassmi, popularly known as “goodwill ambassador at large” is all set to perform on January 27 at the Qatar National Convention Centre.
“My fans in Qatar bring a lively spirit to my concerts, making them unique and special,” he said.  Looking forward to his upcoming concert as part of Shop Qatar festival, al-Jassmi stressed that “I am very fond of Qatar, and feel a special bond with its people whenever I visit, whether it is for leisure or to perform.”
Commenting on what his audiences can expect in his upcoming performance, he said that he plans on singing a selection of some of his more popular songs, as well as a few surprise pieces which will be performed live for the first time.
He disclosed that Kol Shay’ Fy Qatar (Qatar Has Everything), dedicated to Qatar National Day celebrations in 2016, will be included in the programme.
Al-Jassmi began his singing career at 17 when he first performed at the Dubai Shopping Festival’s talent competition and won first place in the amateur’s category.
Prior to that, he participated in a music band with his brothers, performing at parties and weddings in and around Sharjah.
Qatari musician Dana Alfardan will be giving an opening performance at the concert. “I am excited to share a stage with regional star al-Jassmi. Shop Qatar’s entertainment schedule offers a great platform for enriching Qatar’s cultural offerings and sowing the seeds for more home-grown talent,” she said.
